UMDS participated in the events of the final conference BlockchainUA 2024 in Ukraine as part of Blockchain Week 2024. Highlights included the arrival in Kyiv of Vitalik Buterin, the developer of the Ethereum blockchain platform, and Dan, the developer of the Solana blockchain platform, who attended the BlockchainUA conference for the first time in 2019.
The Ukrainian event has been running for 13 years. In 2022 and 2023, the Ukrainian crypto community gathered partially abroad. Finally, in 2024, with the organization of the crypto media Incrypted and a large number of sponsors, we have large-scale offline events, with the conference once again being held at the Parkovy, despite the martial law in Ukraine. We were also delighted by the presentations and stories of foreign guests who participated in Blockchain Week 2024.
The main trends were security issues and education. The Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Department of Cyber Police of the National Police of Ukraine continue to create educational events in various formats. Representatives of the crypto community are also keeping up, offering their educational and certification programs.
The issue of anonymity in blockchain was raised in many speeches. There are many new technological developments, new faces, and new projects. Famous Ukrainians, such as Oleksandr Usyk, are becoming frontmen of crypto projects.
Throughout all the events, there were constant calls for interaction and cooperation. We agreed to share our experience with international projects in Incrypted, found old-new partners, and agreed to expand the Expert Council with new experts.
We believe that the next BlockchainUA 2025 conference should be held in a hybrid format to unite representatives of the Ukrainian crypto industry who are now abroad and those who remain in Ukraine.
Everyone who is developing the crypto industry during such a difficult time for Ukraine is important.
Being present in all countries of the world and telling about Ukraine from a professional and civic point of view is a significant contribution to the common cause of spreading the truth about Ukraine. Looking at our youth, who participated in the hackathon organized by the Solana blockchain network team, we are inspired by the inevitable leadership of Ukrainians in the future global digital space.
