The second meeting with UMDS partners and experts brought together representatives of the most famous blockchain research analytical companies – AMLbot, Crystal, Global Ledger, and Purify – from different parts of Europe – Spain, Portugal, Austria, England, and Scotland. Two experts came from Kazakhstan due to their business trips. Besides the fact that they all have a common field of professional activity, UMDS experts, all come from Ukraine and are already old friends among themselves. You can imagine how warm this meeting was!

Our working meeting was held with the support of the UNODC project on combating cybercrime and money laundering at the Vienna International Center of the United Nations. This cooperation laid the foundation for our joint activities at UMDS. Reciprocally, our experts Mykhailo Tyutin, Svyat Dubovskyi, Alex Fisun, Slava Demchuk, and Artem Semko became consultants for this UNODC project.

At the working meeting, we summarized the results of the work in 2023, discussed the issue of expanding the partnership, and future projects, and the main event was the completion of the development of the Advanced-level Training on conducting investigations into the use of virtual assets in criminal activities. Basic-level training has also been updated with new software solutions. Finally, all of the partner analytical programs are involved in training activities. And some more on the way, but let’s keep the intrigue. Next, we faced the question of approbation of the training and its online version.

Our partner from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Digital Development, together with the AIFC, insist that the test be held in them. After all, a lot was done jointly in 2023. Some challenges require normative work, and our legal experts – Tetyana Gudima, Oleksandr Chernykh, and Slava Cherkashin – in the field of tax legislation have already joined this work.

We do not forget the schoolchildren. By 2024, they have undertaken to launch school courses of the CyberKids educational program in Nazarbayev schools. This project was also developed with the support of UN agencies – UNODC and UNICEF. Such projects are taken care of by our experts – educator Hanna Tereshchenko and partners in educational and scientific activities.

We would like to express our sincere thanks (sincerity and professionalism are our everything)) to the advisor of the Cybercrime and Money Laundering Section of the Organized Crime and Illicit Trafficking Unit of the UNODC Oleksiy Feshchenko for strategic tasks, creative approaches, and inspiration. Well, I will modestly note that I, Tetyana Dmytrenko, organize and direct our activities.

And yet not by one job. Brainstorming continued over our joint dinner and was filled not only with delicious Austrian food but also bright humor, memories, and of course news from Ukraine and initiatives to bring our Victory closer!

The results have been summarized, the goals have been set, and the plans have been drawn up.
And we all have one dream – WE WILL WIN!
