On 10–11 September 2025, Abu Dhabi hosted the Annual Summit of the Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime — an exclusive, closed-door strategic meeting gathering over 200 top global leaders in the fight against financial crime.
Confirmed participants included representatives from INTERPOL, FATF, the Egmont Group, MENA FCCG, OSCE, and other major organizations shaping international financial integrity frameworks.
Unlike traditional conferences, the Summit served as a strategic platform for high-level dialogue among policymakers, regulators, law enforcement, financial institutions, technology innovators, and civil society.
Discussions focused on critical issues — from AI and virtual assets to illicit finance in conflict zones, regulatory gaps, and enforcement capacity.
Ukrainian representatives showcased research, technologies, and educational projects in virtual asset market security and anti-money laundering (AML/CFT).
They discussed potential cooperation with UAE governmental bodies, universities, and the private sector, as well as pathways to introduce Ukrainian innovations to the regional market.
During the event, a meeting took place at the Embassy of Ukraine in the UAE between H.E. Dr. Oleksandr Balanutsa, Ambassador of Ukraine, Oleksii Feshchenko, expert of the NGO Ukrainian Modern Digital Science (UMDS), and Alec El-Kamhawi, co-founder of the Common Law Center at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Ukraine’s scientific and technological potential is strong — and we aim to make it part of the global financial security ecosystem.
