On 11 February 2026, the Central Building of the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of SUTE hosted an expert lecture delivered by Dr. Tetiana Dmytrenko, Doctor of Economics, AML Advisor and Chair of the international expert organization Ukrainian Modern Digital Science (UMDS). The lecture was titled “Financial and Digital Security as a Key to Integration into the Global Economy.”

The event brought together students, faculty members, and professionals interested in the modern challenges of the digital economy, the development of the crypto-asset market, and international approaches to combating financial crime.

During the lecture, key global trends in financial technology development and the risks emerging alongside them were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the use of cryptoassets in criminal activities, modern fraud schemes, cybercrime, and sanctions evasion, as well as the role of FATF international standards and EU regulatory approaches in building a secure digital financial environment. Participants also learned about the latest EU regulatory initiatives (MiCA, DORA, DAC8, TFR) and the development of Ukraine’s legal framework for the virtual assets market.

Special attention was given to the role of blockchain analytics companies — partners of UMDS — — AMLbot, Crystal, Global Ledger, that provide expert support for investigations and supply real data for academic research. Cooperation with leading industry companies enables the integration of academic approaches with practical digital investigations, the analysis of transaction flows, the identification of criminal schemes, and the development of an evidence base for research, educational programmes, and recommendations for regulators and law-enforcement agencies.

A significant part of the lecture was devoted to developing competencies in anti-legalization monitoring, digital literacy, and international cooperation as key prerequisites for Ukraine’s integration into the global financial system.
