NGO “Ukrainian Modern Digital Science” (UMDS) continues to actively contribute to educational and scientific initiatives of both European and Ukrainian universities, promoting advanced expertise in digital economy, financial security, artificial intelligence, and countering the misuse of digital assets.
On 7 May 2026, UMDS expert Dr. Oleksiy Feshchenko, Member of the Scientific Council of UMDS and expert in virtual assets and financial investigations, participated in the international conference “From Innovation to Regulation: Responsible AI in Europe” organized by Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, Lithuania. During the conference, he delivered a presentation entitled “How Technology has Changed the Organized Crime?”, dedicated to the transformation of organized crime under the influence of digital technologies, the evolution of cryptoassets, and emerging challenges for financial monitoring systems and international security.
UMDS also places significant emphasis on strengthening educational dialogue with Ukrainian higher education institutions. Dr. Tetiana Dmytrenko — Doctor of Economics, Senior Researcher, Professor at the Institute of Postgraduate Education of the Academy of Financial Management, and Head of UMDS — delivered an open lecture on 8 May 2026 for students of the Faculty of Economics at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv on the topic “European Integration Mechanisms for Countering the Misuse of Digital Assets.” The lecture addressed modern European approaches to cryptoasset regulation, including MiCA, DORA, DAC8, and the Transfer of Funds Regulation, as well as issues related to cyber risks, AML/CFT, sanctions evasion, and the digital operational resilience of the financial sector.
UMDS sincerely thanks Mykolas Romeris University and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv for the invitation and for their openness to professional and academic dialogue.
We strongly believe that transferring practical expertise to students and young researchers is one of the key elements in building a secure digital future for both Ukraine and Europe. The combination of academic research, education, international experience, and practical financial investigations creates a foundation for innovative education capable of responding to the challenges of the digital economy, cybercrime, and global financial risks.
UMDS will continue supporting educational initiatives, international academic cooperation, and the development of a new generation of specialists in financial security, digital technologies, and European integration.
