On May 27, 2026, experts of the NGO “Ukrainian Modern Digital Science” (UMDS) actively participated in NATIONAL FINMON FORUM 2026  — one of Ukraine’s leading professional events dedicated to financial monitoring, sanctions compliance, international payments, and the digital transformation of the financial sector.

The Forum, organized by the Ukrainian Compliance Association  with the support of LIGA360, brought together representatives of the banking sector, public authorities, law enforcement agencies, international experts, businesses, and the technology community to discuss the practical challenges of the modern financial monitoring system.

On May 27, 2026, during NATIONAL FINMON FORUM 2026, the NGO “Ukrainian Modern Digital Science” (UMDS) and the Ukrainian Compliance Association (UCA) officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The Ukrainian Compliance Association is a professional community of experts dedicated to advancing modern compliance culture through educational initiatives, professional knowledge exchange, industry events, and support for the expert community. The Association’s mission is to build a sustainable ecosystem of trust between business, government, and society.

Today, the National Association of Lobbyists of Ukraine took a step no other institution in the country has previously undertaken — initiating the practical implementation of the Berkeley Protocol into Ukraine’s national procedural and law enforcement practice.

One of the practical cases was the international operation against Garantex / Grinex and the Ukrainian Modern Digital Science research, prepared by Tetіana DmytrenkoOleksandr Chernykh and Tetіana Hudima together with the AMLBotGlobal Ledger and Crystal  teams and presented by Oleksandr Chernykh.Despite sanctions, the total transaction volume processed through the Garantex platform since 2019 reportedly reached at least USD 96–100 billion.

On May 21, 2026, the Research Library of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the NGO “Ukrainian Modern Digital Science” (UMDS) officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The partnership aims to unite efforts in supporting research and educational activities, promoting open access to scientific knowledge, strengthening academic integrity, and developing modern digital scientific infrastructure.

From 3 to 7 November 2025, the Advanced Strategic Analysis Course (A-SAC) took place in Douglas, Isle of Man, successfully organized by the Egmont Centre of FIU Excellence and Leadership (ECOFEL).

On November 7, Ukrainian Modern Digital Science (UMDS) experts Oleksandr Chernykh and Vladyslav Tsvirkun took part in the Blockchain Forensic Forum 2025 — the first scientific-practical conference in Ukraine dedicated to blockchain, cryptocurrency, and digital asset forensics.
The event was organized by the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Examinations (KNDISE) in partnership with the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

On October 29, 2025, the Center for Financial Integrity and the Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law (CEDEM) held an expert discussion titled “To Be or Not to Be: The Future of the Virtual Assets Market in Ukraine.”

The event brought together lawmakers, government agencies, international institutions, business representatives, and civil society to discuss the state of legislative implementation, market challenges, and prospects for launching the sector.

Ukrainian Modern Digital Science (UMDS) participated in the 9th Global Conference on Criminal Finance and Cryptoassets, held on October 28-29, 2025 in Vienna, organized by Europol, UNODC and the Basel Institute on Governance.

The conference brought together over 250 participants in person and over 1,000 online — representatives of law enforcement agencies, regulators, state banks, academic institutions, the private sector and leading blockchain analytics companies.

On 10–11 September 2025, Abu Dhabi hosted the Annual Summit of the Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime — an exclusive, closed-door strategic meeting gathering over 200 top global leaders in the fight against financial crime.

During the event, a meeting took place at the Embassy of Ukraine in the UAE between H.E. Dr. Oleksandr Balanutsa, Ambassador of Ukraine, Oleksii Feshchenko, expert of the NGO Ukrainian Modern Digital Science (UMDS), and Alec El-Kamhawi, co-founder of the Common Law Center at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Тhe Astraea website published an analytical article entitled “russia is one step ahead in the game of ‘find the mole‘”, the authors of which were Ukrainian researchers, including financiers and digital security specialists, in particular UMDS experts Oleksandr Chernykh, Tetiana Dmytrenko, Vlad Tsvirkun and a dually qualified English solicitor and Ukrainian lawyer Khrystyna Khanas. The material exposes the shadow crypto-economy of the russian federation, emphasizing that key transactions are carried out with the help of state-owned mining companies, Chinese digital currencies (mCBDC) and North Korean mixers.

Crypto Market Regulation in the EU: What You Need to Know Today?

On February 12, 2025, a professional offline meetup was held in Kyiv, dedicated to the practical application of the MiCA Regulation and other EU regulatory requirements in the field of crypto-asset circulation. The organizers of the event were the International Advisers Association and Eduard Golodnytskii, bringing together leading experts, lawyers, consultants and representatives of the financial market, in particular, the Chairman of the Board of UMDS Dr. Tetiana Dmytrenko, in her speech, emphasized the importance of implementing a risk-oriented approach to CASP activities, in particular, adapting KYC policies, transaction monitoring procedures and implementing sanctions compliance in accordance with FATF and EU requirements.

As part of the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos, a major study on the use of frozen Russian assets, their search and further actions with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities was presented at the Ukraine House Davos. This is a Razom for Ukraine study by American, British and Ukrainian experts, which should reveal the issue to politicians (decision makers) as broadly and realistically as possible.

The team of international experts who made efforts to this project includes Tetiana Nesterchuk, who has repeatedly covered the issue of recovering damages from the aggressor at events held by Oleksandr Chernykh from the Ukrainian National Bar Association and Ukrainian Modern Digital Science.
